St. Thomas More Society of St. Clare
Church Present: Eric L. Bergman, Ed Facciani, Ed Jordan, Jerry McGreevy and Don Sanderson. Absent Bill Harris, and Jim Reese Guest: Bernice Facciani and Judy Sanderson Meeting began with Prayer at 11:10 AM Minutes from meeting of Sept 24, 2006 were correct to reflect $6,000 grant of which $ 2,000 was authorized to be send when cash balances were available. Minutes were accepted as corrected Financial report for September was accepted. Fr. Eric to request Fr. Phillips to release their grant from being restricted (Building a Church) to non-restricted. Director’s Trips: A. Letter was sent to Archbishop Myers, meeting set for late Nov. Fr. Eric and the other Anglican Use Leaders will gather the night before, in Newark B. Fr. Eric’s oral exam will be on Friday, Oct 20th. Fr. Eric will go to Newark on Thursday night the 19th. C. Fr. Scott has asked Fr. Eric to speak at a retreat in Hancock NY on Tuesday Nov 21th. D. Fr. Eric has been asked by a group of Episcopalians to meet with them in Northern Virginia to explore the Anglican Use on or about Nov 27th. E. Retreat at Graymoor has been cancelled.
Administrative Matters: A. A Third Quarter special collection letter has been sent to only members and friends that contribute to the Society.
B.
We need to look at budgets for next year, so that we know what is
ahead, but we will not ask for pledges at this time. Once we know that
Fr. Eric will be ordained and that we will be erected as a Pastoral
Provision Parish, then we will do a major funding campaign. Pastoral concerns: A. October 31, 2006 at 5:00 PM STHS will celebrate an All Saint’s Mass. In addition, following the Mass, we will celebrate the first anniversary of our Confirmation in the Roman Catholic Church. Lori Edsall will co-ordinate the sign up for the party. B. Patron discernment process will begin after the Mass today. Next meeting to be held on Sunday, November 12, 2006 at 11:00AM Meeting closed in
